Wellbeing Way App: the digital service aimed at supporting users to improve their health and wellbeing.

Iceberg Creative has developed and continues to support and improve the ‘Wellbeing Way’ app for  Xyla Health & Wellbeing, who are part of the Acacium Group (Acacium Group | The UK’s Largest Healthcare Solutions Partner). Xyla Health and Wellbeing  has been selected as one of five providers to deliver the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP) across the UK. NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK have committed to improving efforts to prevent diabetes, and this collaborative programme aims to help the 5 million people who are at risk of developing the disease.

Type 2 diabetes represents 90% of all diabetes in patients and it’s largely caused by lifestyle factors which can be modified. Our programmes focus on helping people to reduce their weight, increase their physical activity levels and improve their diet, empowering them to take charge of their health and wellbeing and learn how to prevent diabetes.

Our Diabetes Prevention Programme consists of a mixture of 1-to-1 and group sessions delivered by our specially trained health and wellbeing coaches. Throughout the programme participants learn how to prevent diabetes by incorporating healthier eating, physical activity, problem-solving, stress-reduction and coping skills into their daily lives.

The Wellbeing Way app was originally developed using Moodle as the core technology platform with multiple bespoke integrations and API’s developed into several database sources, third party connections and Plugins.

Wellbeing Way is the digital service aimed at supporting users to improve their health and wellbeing through in-app support. The Wellbeing Way app uses multiple engagement methods to motivate and empower individuals to eat well, move more and take charge of their health.

Service users enrolled on the Wellbeing Way programme will have access to:

  • Tailored resources based on user onboarding preferences and requirements
  • In-app community forum where they can share experiences, tips, recipes, and advice with people like them who are also on the same journey
  • Interactive educational modules
  • Quizzes
  • Podcasts
  • Webinars
  • Exercise videos (catering to cultural exercise needs)
  • Blogs
  • Recipes (catering to cultural dietary needs)
  • Articles
  • In-built health tracker, enabling service users to set, monitor and achieve their goals.

Wellbeing Way is available on both iOS and Android devices (accessible to Xyla patients only, a unique access link will be emailed to the service user once they have been referred.)
